Love Island can't return to ITV screens quick enough, and a new promo has arrived to get us even more excited about it.

Featuring a host of beautiful guys and girls fighting their way from the beach to the luxurious villa, it promises that 2016's series will be just as exciting as last year's.

The singletons will be spending a few weeks flirting and hooking up in the hope of winning the lucrative cash prize, though there are a few changes this year.

An ​outdoor gym and a re-designed Love Shack for couples to sneak away to for some one-on-one time will feature in the villa.

Another twist will see the public given more powers to make and break the villa's couples with a new app that can let the audience decide who to send into the house, who to send home and who should win the prize.​

Caroline Flack has been confirmed as returning host for this year's series.

Love Island will return to ITV2 later this year.

It's unbelievable how much better that promo is than last year's tacky one which had Caroline on the phone to the islanders like 'hey babe' and 'it's gonna be a long, hot, summer'

I don't like the sound of more public involvement either, that's a backwards step. Other than their great choice of winner most of the decisions the public made last series were absolute trash (how unsurprising for a British reality show) and those made internally worked out far better.

Not to mention I quite liked the fact they positioned this show as somewhat of a game for money, it's about time we had a bit of that in the UK without the public ruining things. And the love/money prisoner's dilemma as the finale night twist must stay, it was a genius idea and could turn out hilariously in future.

Whilst we're on the subject of improvements, a more consistent format please. Last year they threw in newbie after newbie and they were mostly dull and booted out at first opportunity. Like who the hell were Travis and Poppy seriously?

I pretty much agree with all of this.

The promo is really good this year and I can't actually remember seeing ANY last year for the 2015 series. I think I found out on like the day that it was airing.

Yeah, the constant newbies being thrown in was annoying, and also the constant switching of couples too. Literally we'd sometimes have maybe three swaps in a week and three newbies, it was too much. Naomi and Jess were the only stand out stars (Hannah, Jon and Josh got given a lot of airtime but DEAR GOD they were awful)

More fool them, nobody else played the game apart from Naomi, the show died after she left because they were all boring twats who stayed in the same couples in a little clique.
