I felt bad for Sam when Lesley was being awful to her but that aside I found her annoying af and quite try-hard and for me she’s a bottom 15 housemate

19. Sam Brodie
![]() Sam is one of the housemates I feel most mixed on. I think she's a great housemate who brought it in her ten day stay, which is sadly forgotten and she is often dismissed (not on here) as a bore who did nothing, which is such a blinkered view considered she was one of the most overbearing housemates and was a massive part of one of the biggest conflicts of the series. From the producers eyes, seeing as they seemed so intent on casting annoying hard to live with housemates around this era, I think Sam was a replacement for Shahbaz. To the other housemates, that is pretty much what she is - a watered down less dangerous version of Shahbaz, someone who would cause some drama then leave swiftly, and wow she certainly did that, even if it's arguable if she caused it. The whole situation with Lea, Grace and Lisa is such a complex one that's confusing to watch even after a first watch, it's the biggest he said she said situation in the history of the show, and is pretty hard to wrap your head around exactly what happened. Many blame Grace, and she certainly did play a part in it, but I don't see Sam as innocent as many others do. No way do I think she was a nasty or deliberately horrible person, but I do think what she was accused of by Lea - selling out Lea and Richard to join Team Grace - was essentially true. There was nothing wrong with it, she was a complex confused teenager who wanted to join the popular gang, but whilst I believe she was upset, her turning it into a scenario mainly about Lea saying she was an arselicker, was irrelevant to what the situation was initially about and a way to deflect having to admit that she did sell out Lea and Richard. Do I blame Sam for this? No. It's easily one of the most fascinating episodes ever imo, and such compelling viewing. Away from that, Sam was pretty much spoke about appallingly, with a lot of ignorant comments being flung about, and it's hard to watch these days. Some people think Sam was bullied, I personally don't think so, because she was never actually treated appallingly to her face, and there lies the difference. What was said about Sam was so ignorant that it didn't have to be bullying to make it bad though. Ultimately, I don't blame the housemates for finding Sam annoying, I would have certainly found her annoying if I was there, constantly wanting to be with someone, walking in on people on the toilet, disturbing people in their sleep, I can see why she was disliked amongst the group. She was, however, a brilliant housemate, complex, unique, intriguing, strange, and essentially a confused person finding her place in the world. It's a shame she went, though it was the right decision. Last edited by Daniel.; 27-01-2019 at 02:31 PM. |

18. Saskia Howard Clarke
![]() Saskia is my ultimate mixed housemate. I kind of love her, but a lot of the time I can't stand her. I think she gets both underrated and overrated on here, I don't think she's anywhere near as bad as a lot of people say but the likes of miss cal and riley claiming her as one of the best housemates of all time? I have to laugh. Saskia is ultimately known for her last week, and one of the best downfall stories ever, but before that, Saskia was actually one of the quiet normal ones in the first few weeks, iconic argument with Mary aside. She produced some classic lines in that argument, "Dont grit your teeth at me like a dog, woman" is legendary and said with such venomI laugh every time. Aside from that though, Saskia was kind of quiet, nice, friendly, not really a big character at all, and generally felt almost too normal for a series like BB6? I feel she would have been amazing in Vanessa Nimmo's role in BB5, imagine her vs Nadia. She had an amazing rivalry with Derek, in which she was named "the silent assasin" and gradually, slowly built a team of which she was the leader and around weeks three - four Saskia was easily the most powerful person in the house. She had her man, her two slaves who would do pretty much anything for her, and she became really arrogant and cocky, like Maxwell. Saskia really thought she would be in the final without question, all because of the cheers of week two. I watched the nomination reveal episode before this, and a quote that sticks to me is "They dont want us up, but they aint got a choice" which really proves my point.Of course, this all leads to an amazing house divide with Team Makosi, and in week five Saskia was a straight up bitch and played the villain amazingly. Her anger during cidergate was so strong I think it may be the angriest anyone got all series, which isn't an easy thing to do in such a conflict heavy series. She did come out with some classic lines "GO TO FAACKIN AMERICA WE DONT GIVE A FUUUUCK" and "Surprised your not fingering yourself" but essentially revealed herself to be a bigoted bitch. Saskia is an amazing housemate for me, but as a person I don't like her. She's no where near amongst the most vile in history, or even her series though and ultimately I lean more positive. Her downfall storyline, along with Maxwell, is easily the best and for me she was an entertaining housemate. Last edited by Daniel.; 31-01-2019 at 11:46 AM. |

17. Victor Ebuwa
![]() I really like Victor, and my BB5 watch has made him shoot up in my estimation, but for a big character I dont have much to say on him? He was quirky, unique in that he openly played the game, delivered some great lines, played a big role and was actually a decent person underneath it all. Victor is most remembered for fight night and his rivalry with Emma, which was great, but he was a great presence I enjoyed watching even when he wasn't doing much. Victor was a great housemate and a good person, and I credit him for playing the game in a way no one before or since did, openly admitting he was on a game show and wants to win is a good thing, and it was refreshing to see. My favourite things about him were when he would chat to Big Brother about this and what his next move was. Remember when he engineered the Daniel and Vanessa eviction because he thought the LGbS were done and he needed the other group out? Scheming legend. Last edited by Daniel.; 01-02-2019 at 11:27 AM. |
