Yeah I suppose that's true. I mean personally I wouldn't, but that's just me because I'm quite competitive when I play games

So even if it was bad for my overall game, I don't think I'd be able to resist trying to do well in the tasks and comps (so yeah I'd be rubbish on BBCan so maybe I can't judge lol). But I think it's just a personal preference type thing, like I'd rather watch people really try and put their all into it because I respect that a lot. So I get how it was good for his game etc and he wasn't really doing anything wrong in terms of the format, it's more that he's just not my type of HM really. Maybe I'd change my mind if I saw more of the BBCan format, but with it being completely new to me, I kind of expected that they should all be putting loads of effort into the comps to try and progress... (it bothers me on BBUK and affects my HM judgments when they don't put effort into the shopping tasks too
