So sad, but it's good to hear he's slowly getting better.

A lesser man would have died. His was so extremely fit though, that's got to have been a major factor in his recovery, even if that recovery does seem slow. I'm still hopeful for him.

An exclusive report from Express UK said that the care costs have now amounted to over Ł10 million. Aside from the very expensive care costs, there is no assurance that the 46-year-old retired racer will recover completely from the accident he suffered.

The last update about Schumacher's health is that he has woken up from the coma. He is reportedly now under the personal care of his family and nurses in his Lake Geneva home. This is all everyone knows because the family requested a complete news blackout regarding Schumacher's condition.

However, Express UK was able to talk to an insider who allegedly knows something about what Schumacher is going through right now.

"Progress is painfully slow. There is no miracle on the horizon," the insider shared.

The seven-time Formula One World Champion is reportedly being cared for by a medical team composed of 15 health professionals, all of which work under the direction of Professor Jean-Francois Payen. Professor Payen was the one who operated on Schumacher's brain blood clots.

Meanwhile, Michael Watson, a former boxer who suffered brain damage after being knocked down, shared his experience with Express.

"If you look at severe head injury victims who go on to make a good recovery – and I'm not saying all do – it will always be a story of years. The first months are dominated by questions of survival. Gradually, as the weeks and months go by those questions of survival turn into questions of the quality of survival," Watson said.

Right now, Schumacher is described to have "limited awareness" and is still unable to walk. His muscles are massaged on a daily basis for stimulation. Findings are said to be recorded every hour.

Family and friends continue to give their outpouring love and support for Schumacher. His father has reportedly also moved to Germany to be closer to him
Hopefully some news in the build up to the season opener.

Apparently he is making slow progress. The media blackout is still in place. Can't believe it's nearly 2 years since the accident.
