That's AHS' main problem, no consequences. Things just happen with no rhyme or reason. Most of the time anyway.

Ryan Murphy needs to give an actual writer the theme each year and let them tell an actual story.

I think that's why Autumn weather is always such a shock because the transition between heatwaves and cold temps/leaves on ground/rain is a matter of days
