That's true of every TV news source and most written news sources since "news" was conceived as gossip round the campfire. And the same is true of every single one of your SoMed "alternative news sources". There is no such thing as being served unbiased news, all you can hope to do is see all of the sources and use some critical thinking.

That's the part that's sadly lacking.

BBC used to be considered superior to our own news. We could catch it really early in the morning if we were "objective news" people. Then the fluff would come on at sunrise.

It's been my observation we've never had a great opinion of our own media. What we had in my youth was a decorative form of it bordering on propaganda (more focused on American patriotic's POV than not), but it did serve an important role in our public discourse.

[Body returned from Gaza is not Shiri Bibas, Israeli military says]

I imagine IDF will continue to say murdered with bare hands, Hamas will continue to say they were killed in an air strike, all we can really do is believe one or the other without some sort of independent verification. Either or both could be false.

what we do kmow is that hamas tried to substitute some unknown person for the real mother, so they are not being genuine. Either the mother is still alive or her death was obviously not from an air strike otherwise they would just have delivered the body

Still haven't seen TV coverage of Hamas parading two tiny coffins and a third thayt was supposed to have contained their mother, while music played and Palestinians cheered. No news network will risk showing it. I'm sure those children were fed and nurtured and were accidentally killed by an Israeli missile. Because that's what Hamas have said, right?
