Tony's (Gray O'Brien) had enough of people getting in the way of his business plans and when he shows Jason (Ryan Thomas) his latest acquisition - a street of terrace houses he hints there's just one remaining tenant to sort out. Knocking on Jed Stone's (Kenneth Cope) door it's clear he's not welcome but Tony forces his way in before offering Mr Stone more money to leave. He's defiant, claiming he won't be moved but when Tony's manner becomes more threatening will he cave under the pressure? Meanwhile, when Kevin (Michael LeVell) gets a breakdown callout, which ends up being a hoax and a ruse to steal his truck, it looks like it could be the work of a determined Tony.
At the Rovers Michelle's (Kym Ryder) looking forward to her trip to Belgium. Steve's (Simon Gregson) not happy about her going but tries to cover. However when Liz (Beverley Callard) suggests she only got back with him so she had someone to babysit Ryan while she's on tour it sets Steve thinking. How will Michelle react when tackled and with Roy (David Neilson) back on the street to witness the couple's ongoing dispute is Steve's fling with Becky (Katherine Kelly) about to be revealed? A nervous Molly (Vicky Binns) tries to hide her ringless finger from Tyrone (Alan Halsall). But when she still can't find it Auntie Pam (Kate Anthony) declares it must have got lost in one of her pickle jars and the search begins. Elsewhere Sean (Antony Cotton) worries about his relationship as Marcus (Charlie Condou) heads off to London to train as a botox practioner and Gail (Helen Worth) continues her secret liaison with Joe. This episode was written by Martin Allen, produced by Kim Crowther and directed by Tony Prescott. **** PI for the rest of the week follows: Monday 18 August 8.30pm Kevin (Michael LeVell) almost comes to blow with Tony (Gray O'Brien) when he accuses him of organising the hi-jack of his pick-up truck. He denies all knowledge and Kevin turns to the police. But he's furious to be told he can't go around accusing people without any proof. With his business left in a bad way Kevin's forced to tell Tyrone he might have to cut his hours. Meanwhile when Tony pays Mr Stone (Kenneth Cope) another visit his mood is menacing and we see the fear in the old man's eyes. As the row intensifies Jed collapses, will Tony call for an ambulance or will he seize his opportunity to get rid of him for good? Back on the street Steve (Simon Gregson) and Michelle (Kym Ryder) continue to bicker about her tour but when Steve finally apologises for his behaviour the tension starts to ease. Elsewhere when Roy (David Neilson) tells Becky (Katherine Kelly) to live her life as she sees fit and he'll no longer interfere it looks like Steve and Becky may get away with their indiscretion. As Auntie Pam (Kate Anthony) searches through the jars of pickle Molly's (Vicky Binns) hopes of finding her engagement ring are fading. She's about to confess to Tyrone (Alan Halsall) but when he reveals Kevin may be cutting his hours will she be able to bring herself to add to his bad day? And when Fiz (Jennie McAlpine) allows John (Graeme Hawley) to help mend her DVD player it looks like he could be gradually breaking down her defences. This episode was written by Mark Burt, produced by Kim Crowther and directed by Tony Prescott. *** Wednesday 20 August 7.30pm Tony's (Gray O'Brien) business plans seem to be coming together and as he pays Jason (Ryan Thomas) and Tyrone (Alan Halsall) to clear Mr Stone's (Kenneth Cope) house he plans for the day's grand opening of the Victoria Street flats. At the house Tyrone notices food in the fridge and money lying around, he feels uneasy about boarding up the property but Tony convinces him he'll be taking Mr Stone all his belongings. At the hospital Tony's mood is dark and when Mr Stone tells him to shove his cheque Tony lifts a pillow to the old man's face. Is Tony about to snap? Meanwhile as the opening of the flats gets underway glasses are raised to Tony the 'winner'. But as a jubilant Tony takes his guests around the show flat Kevin (Michael LeVell) is left to ponder Rita's (Barbara Knox) warning that Tony won't stop until he puts him out of business. Elsewhere with the pickle search turning up nothing Molly (Vicky Binns) decides to tell Tyrone (Alan Halsall) the truth about the lost ring. But as she braces herself to confess Tyrone springs a surprise of his own on his fiance. At the Battersby's, Chesney (Sam Aston) isn't happy when he hears John (Graeme Hawley) has been hanging around Fiz (Jennie McAlpine), and Julie (Katy Cavanagh) asks Fiz to get her a job at the factory. This episode was written by David Lane, produced by Kim Crowther and directed by Tony Prescott. **** Friday 22 August 7.30pm Chesney (Sam Aston) wants to know what's happening between Fiz (Jennie McAlpine) and John (Graeme Hawley). Fiz promises him there's nothing going on but Chesney's not convinced. Later as he takes Kayleigh (Jessica Barden) out to the park a boy called Kenzie starts causing trouble. Standing up for his girl Chesney starts to fight but Kenzie is getting the better of Chesney and John arrives just in time to break up the scrap. His good deed done John's sure this will win him brownie points with Fiz but back on the street Chesney tells Fiz a different story. As Tony (Gray O'Brien) continues his plan to force Kevin (Michael LeVell) to sell him the garage he turns on the charm with Rosie (Helen Flannagan). Convincing her it will be in her dad's best interest he asks her to help him. David (Jack P Shepherd) invites Tina (Michelle Keegan) to a music festival. But when she turns him down he asks Amber (Nikki Patel) instead. Will his ploy to make Tina jealous work? Elsewhere Julie (Katy Cavanagh) gets a job at the factory and when Norris (Malcolm Hebden) finds an envelope at Emily's (Eileen Derbyshire) titled 'to be opened after my death' will he be able to resist temptation? This episode is written by Peter Whalley, produced by Kim Crowther and was directed by Tony Prescott. **** Friday 22 August 8.30pm A furious Fiz (Jennie McAlpine) storms across the road, accusing John (Graeme Hawley) of beating up Chesney (Sam Aston) she gives him a slap. Stunned John denies this and when Kayleigh (Jessica Barden) backs him up Fiz is forced to apologise. When she then confronts Chesney he reveals the truth, claiming he was worried John's getting to her again. Fiz promises she'd never be so stupid as to give him a second chance but it's clear this promise is going to be hard to keep and when she takes John for a drink to apologise the pair start to forget their past. Will John take his chance as Fiz lets her guard down? When Tyrone (Alan Halsall) can't get in touch with his mum to wish her happy birthday he starts to worry. It appears she's back from Spain but nobody knows where she is. Eventually Tyrone gets hold of her on the phone but something in her manner leaves him feeling uneasy. Molly (Vicky Binns) decides it's time they paid the legendary Jackie Dobbs a visit. At the Platts, David's (Jack P Shepherd) plan looks like it might be working when Darryl (Jonathon Dixon) reveals Tina's (Michelle Keegan) gutted that he's taking Amber (Nikki Patel) to the festival instead of her. Meanwhile Gail (Helen Worth) and Joe (Reece Dinsdale) enjoy another secret date. Elsewhere Marcus (Charlie Condou) gets an earful from Sean (Antony Cotton) on his return from London and Emily (Eileen Derbyshire) lets Norris (Malcolm Hebden) read the contents of the secret envelope. This episode was written by Joe Turner, is produced by Kim Crowther and was directed by Tony Prescott. Last edited: Monday, 4 August 2008 |
