Smth fuky going on though still, not to get too conspiritorial, but one of the reasons things like this don't happen all that often is that when someone like Trump is making a public speech to a crowd like this, there aren't supposed to be possible spots to fire from.

They're supposed to survey the area, and any rooftops with a line of sight to the podium are supposed to be blocked off and probably staffed. Usually if they can't do that, they'll put bulletproof screens up which have been seen multiple times in various US election tours. He shouldn't have been able to be on that roof with a shot at Trump. If it was just a security oversight it was a HUGE one.

you say it was a slam dunk case, but it had a very bias judge, so it was never going to go to trial and the prosecutor had several opportunities to change the trajectory and didn't bother

i always thought they used bullet proof glass to protect them at public events. For example, the famous speech Trump made on the 6th Jan was behind a shield. If there was a line of site issue, that must surely be the easiest solution, and doesnt rely on any individual for protection
