Loved the Fury, and the shot of the Ferryman (Charon?) approaching was really cool.

Merlin being trapped inside the tree makes sense considering episode 7's title, Nimue, who in the legends was Merlin's student (as well as the Lady of the Lake) and she eventually betrayed him and trapped him inside a tree or a cave (depending on the version), I believe. Which itself is similar to Jafar and Amara on the Wonderland spin-off, I wonder if the Merlin / Nimue stories influenced that.

Everytime I think of Nimue though, I just picture Michelle Ryan because she played a version of her in BBC's Merlin.

I'm still hoping Morgan le Fay shows up (and I'm still hoping she's the Black Fairy :lhee.

Oh, and Regina's reaction to Dopey turning into a tree after crossing the town line was funny. "Well, that's new".

Emma's hair is so messy this series. In the scene with Hook at her house you could see patches of her natural colour poking through. It's like someone with cataracts sprayed on the dye or something.

Just as I thought too. Zelena made a regular just because they need the actress tied to the show for little moments they might need her until she eventually gives birth.

They're not going to do anything with her. She's going to be like Belle. With better hair.

So they're apparently not including Morgan le Fay in this Camelot arc. Not gonna lie, that's really disappointing imo.

Loving shady King Arthur, definitely intrigued to see where this goes. And Lancelot being alive is interesting (some people had called it but I just assumed we'd only be seeing him in flashbacks ).

Oh, and this episode provided me with possibly my favourite quote of the entire show so far.

Wow, a Charming centric episode that wasn't completely awful. It only took them five seasons to do it.

The storyline has completely grabbed me now, I like the idea of Arthur being an enemy rather then just retreading the Frozen storyline with Camelot characters.

Yeah, I also like that he seems to be more morally grey / conflicted rather than a moustache-twirling "I'm so evil" bad guy (it's one of the things I love about Zelena but it doesn't work for all).

Nobody in real life because we're all familiar with scans etc. Just like nobody in real life refers to a phone tap as an "enchanted box".

He could have said "a picture of the baby" but I'm glad he didn't because I found it hilarious (Hook's reaction especially).

What an awful episode.

The show is casting a mysterious, dangerous and vindictive God-like figure known obscurely as “Distinguished Gentleman” or “DG.” Given that series co-creator Eddy Kitsis summed up Season 5B as “hell,” which quickly sparked speculation that the ABC series next will brave the Underworld, one must wonder if they’re thusly casting a very dapper Devil.

Interesting. Considering the inclusion of Greek mythology we've had, it could be Hades perhaps?

There's only really Hades and Scar left when it comes to male Disney Villains and I don't think they're brave enough to risk alienating the american family audience to do a storyline about the Devil. I'm guessing we're gonna have a Hercules storyline.

The first episode of 5B (also the 100th episode) is to be called "Souls of the Departed" and Cora is going to be in the episode. The Underworld theory is pretty much all but confirmed at this point, I think.

I'm so excited for if they do indeed introduce Hades (but hopefully a more reigned in version than the Disney movie incarnation, some things are best left to animation). Hopefully they hark back more to the Greek myths than the movie.

As for the current arc, I'm enjoying it (and my interest has piqued now Merlin's back), but I can't help but feel a little underwhelmed. A Camelot story arc could have been so much more.

But yeah, I love that Merlin's finally been released, his backstory and the history of the Dark One is my main area of interest in this story atm. I think it's safe to say the Dark One who turned him into a tree is the woman he loved, aka
