Being realistic I don't think Farage is going to start committing genocide or waging an expansionist war. However, you're right in that he does utilise the same oratory tricks/pull on the same strings of public opinion in order to achieve his popularity. He's a populist and a demagogue.

Another thing important to understand, I suppose, is that Hitler himself was not the most evil or most extreme Nazi, believe it or not. There's a sort of "popular history" that outlines Hitler as the head of the snake with all of the evil and hatred coming directly down from him. Don't get me wrong, he was a hateful and prejudiced man, but it's also important to remember that he was increasingly surrounded by even more hateful/violent/sociopathic extremists as his "inner circle" and they were always in his ear, pushing things more and more to the extremes, playing more and more on public fears and prejudices...

That's the worrying part. Not who or what someone like Farage is today, but what a populist leader can become if they actually do end up in a position of power.

i'm happy to see a re-alignment in uk politics, because the current system obviously isn't working. It's easy for a populist to criticise, but brexit has made the uk significantly poorer, so if we are looking for someone to sort out the mess, Nigel isn't the answer.

It's interesting that the tories most likely to lose their seats are those that closely identify with ukip/reform, so Nigel is actually contributing to booting like minded people out of the HoC

If Nigel actually represented the views he pretends to, he would be doing everything for them to remain as mp's

Of course they are, 95%+ of the people who are going to vote Reform in two weeks time were voting Tory at the least election. Farage has given that hose the sook of it's life and siphoning more Tory votes into the Reform tank by the day.

Not many people previously voting anything else looking at Farage's gaggle and thinking "ooh that's the party for me!"
