the police are always granted more time to hold prisoners without charge in cases like this so, there is no point trying to imply that it is unusual.

It's the same police force under labour as it was under the tories. Again, what difference is a government going to make in a month.

To be fair.. after a mass slaughter of innocent young children I would expect the default time allowed for questioning to be AS LONG AS IT TAKES …

Why are people even attacking the police? They have the initial attacker in custody, and the guy who went to the vigil with a knife was apprehended quickly. They put themselves in danger at the airport attack and didn't let anyone else get hurt.

So what's the issue? All sounds fairly effective to me.
