Crisis talks as Network Ten axe BB?

According to a source inside Network Ten, senior management have met with Southern Star Endemol producers tonight regarding the future of the program, Big Brother on the network.

Just under a fortnight ago, Ten management finally axed the show Big Brother Adults Only, citing continued government pressure in relation to censors.

While the controvesy of the weekends events involving Ashley and John, who were evicted earlier tonight, was certaintly the main reason for the talks, others suggest a sudden collapse of funding from the major sponsors also prompted the talks.

At 9.30pm tonight, the Official Site shut down it's forums, unable to keep up with removing posts regarding why John and Ashley were evicted, even after pleading with forum users to steer clear of talking about the subject.

The source has also claimed that just under an hour ago plans were being finalised from the meeting, and that the decision reached was to axe Big Brother immediately, with the remaining prizemoney split 8 ways between the contestants still in the house.

The source has also claimed that tomorrow's eviction will no longer go ahead, instead being replaced by The Simpsons and a special Futurama documentary.

My source denies this, the only crisis talks that were held was the decision regarding what to do to the HMs. It's quite clear Ch 10 will have a big audience tomorrow night, as most newspapers tomorrow could be running front page stories on this, knowledge of Ash and John's eviction has already made headlines on radio and on the news.

Also, ESS, Channel 10 and Legion Interactive would face severe penalties because of all the people who voted this week. ESS and Channel 10 would also face legal advertisers who didn't want the show axed.

How can you say big brother usa is hated it is way more interesting. I am really shocked that this happened and I dont want it to get canceled I want to see how they handle this. If it gets canceled then it will be only the second big brother to get canceled during the game with the only other one being bb middle east or was it called arabia. one of those two. They definatly deserved to get kicked out because of that.

The eviction show is still going ahead tomorrow night as planned, the producers have confirmed this through the AAP. Don't know if the show will be axed after this though, if not, I definately think Ten and SSE will seriously think about whether they want to bring it back again next year. What a disappointing (possible) end for Big Brother.

The show will be back and face it if we are pretty much the only ones who know what went on what would that matter, most of the australian public don't know what happened and won't be told - because that would defeat the purpose of hiding it.
I doubt it will change big brother this year. And I do hope it will be back which I am sure it most likely will be.
A lot of the people here complain about Big Brother saying the surprises suck and inverting the prive money at the end is "piss weak" make it shitty - think about if we didn't have this forum to bitch about that, it would surprise you [not all I am sure]
It most definately surprises most of the australian viewers who aren't on this forum saying
"OMFG Gretal is teh ho bag - get her off tv" or posting fake stories like this one.
Big Brother is a success and I don't know anyone that enjoyed it the other years says it is crap because they don't surprise them or gretel stands up for herself and the show.

I have a view points:

Big Brother won't be majorly affected by this [this year]

Big Brother most likely will be back since there are contracts [As mentioned on this site previously - so i'm wrong this site informs us wrong]

Gretel is a good host and makes the show enjoyable for most of us

The people here that are serious about having "Andrew G, Fitzy or Mike or a skinny blonde bimbo" really need to rethink about why they watch Big Brother
Mike is a great host - for where he is FNL, Uplate, Voice Overs - Occasional appearances
But there are times where he couldn't possibly replace Gretel, and what about his slip ups
If he does slip up - it just oops! Oh well! But if Gretel does it OMFG Get Her off, lets go have a stupid website and a petition that won't do anything just for the hell of it because I have no life.

I don't mean to offend anyone that may have taken this the wrong way, some maybe I intend to in ways but not directly.

I realise there most likely are grammer and spelling errors and that is due to the fact I am tired and just want to get my opinion out.

Behind big brother a great aussie site has been down this afternoon, the official forums are down, I have other forums and we are discussing it , but wanted to see what else is out there ..
