Dont really think it matters, this forum automatically logs ip's, staff will ip trace any suspect ip's or compare them to previously banned members. If they have suspicions its someone who has been asked to leave or they have banned, then they have other means available to prevent troublemakers.

Namely they run a trace on an ip then get in touch with the ISP quoting the ip, and time of the abuse, they can then informally ask for this forum to be denied access to that customer or make a formal complaint against the customer in question.

ISP's are then duty bound by law in the case of certain uk based troublemakers UK law states the ISP has ro investigate the allegation and if its found to be true must carry out some form of censure of the net abuser.

I know that the only time any admins check IP's are when other people report things, not sure though.

you can mask your ip adress though by going through something. my man bored me explaining it to me the other day. means you can't trace the ip
