Yeah, **** the likes of Germaine Greer, Hillary Clinton, Maya Angelou, Bonnie Greer, Aung San Suu Kyi, Jane Tomlinson, Ellen DeGeneres...

Even in the realms of entertainment there're much better role models: Judi Dench, Helen Mirren, Julie Andrews, Julie Walters, JK Rowling, Oprah...

and if we're going for the all-time route: Marie Curie, Eleanor Roosevelt, Benazir Bhutto, Mother Teresa...

Agree or not, a large majority of people in their early teens and girls in the years 10-12 adore Cheryl Cole. So i understand why she's at #1. My cousin who is 11 loves her.

Cheryl is lovely, she is great, but she is not the #1 inspirational, as someone said before, Sara Payne, Katie Piper could have taken the slot.

Beyonce would be up high too, along with David Beckham as he is a loved footbal player and always has been.

Mother Theresa, Ghandi, Obama, Nelson Mandela etc.....

The thing is what does she do to be inspirational? She has added nothing new to this world and has done nothing worth while to be reconised as a icon.

The young nieve girls only like her because she is pretty.

These women poll things are always utterly bizarre. I gave up trying to figure them out when Kerry Katona won Mother of the year.
