Firstly, I have absolutely nothing against English people or England, in fact find both rather pleasant. My OH is English and says as our kids are half English (they aren't, they're Scottish) he's going to buy them both England tops for the World Cup (can if he wants, they won't be wearing them) and says I should be supporting England too.. Now as I have already said, I have nothing against England, but most of us Scots just don't have it in us to willingly support England. To put it bluntly, I'd rather bathe in my own
p!sh than support them...

(mind you, I usually end up feeling bad for them when they get put out)

Apart fom the last brackets I agree - I like Engish people, luv English individuals BUT hate Engerland wtth a passion - if they win I will emegrate as canot stand 24/7 on tele forever

Yep, it's painful listening to them sometimes. I'll just watch them playing on Irish channels. Can't hack it, unless they're losing of course.

Have you ever listened to Brian Moore during the 6 Nations when they're playing? Now there's a fella who drives me nuts.

You need to stop being so biased, accept we are a much better football team, and just watch the game and hope that the team whos country you pretty much live in do well (let's face it... Wales, Scotland, Ireland... All overshadowed by England and are just on the borders.. might aswell be in it)

I don't understand the bitterness of the Welsh, Scottish and N.Irish/Irish. Just accept that we are better at football and have a good chance at winning a major tournament.

I live in Scotland, not England thanks. And I do accept that your football team are far better than ours.. I think that's where the problem may stem from.

Second best to whom? There's a lot of footballing nations out there who have the chance to own you at the World Cup. We just like to see your bubble burst cuz you hype yourself yourselves up so much and believe you have a God given right to win. Look at all of your comments in this thread.

Confident in the sense we have one of the best strikers in the world in great form going into this world cup and the best manager for the Job at this moment in time who will get the best out of all the players at this World cup

Yes we get it you enjoy watching England lose... but it's more of the case you are Bitter/Jealous then anything else.. it's pretty sad the way some people support every team who are playing england until they end up going out... for once in your life enjoy the world cup go out their buy yourself a england top and a england flag and celebrate the great day when we lift #2

I've got nothing really against England. They're my 4th favorite team in the World Cup this year.

1. Japan
2. USA
3. Ghana
4. England
5. Switzerland

Seeing as the other four are all relatively week, i'll probably be supporting England anyways!

I don't think it is just jealousy or bitterness. I mean let's face it, there are plenty of teams (Italy, Spain etc) better than Scotland who we perhaps should be jealous of. England are not the only team who are better than Scotland... I think the fact that you are our "Auld enemy" has a lot to do with it and also the media hype that we have to listen to over and over and over again doesn't do much to endear us Scots to your team.. I'd maybe like to be able to cheer them on, but I just couldn't do it.. sorry
Good luck to you though (and I mean that, I know how I would feel if Scotland were involved and I thought they could win it)
