He has toned it down since sam come in and basically let him know people are not keen on his god act.Dave started pulling more pranks like sammy pepper once he realised sam was liked outside.
His mad laughing is all a act. I believe big brother turn people into cartoon characters and daves realised he been cut from the script...he started crying a lot and missing his family around that exact time
