I think people are overestimating the amount that will inevitably drop off. Channel 5 doesn't have that much of a lower audience than Channel 4, its not like Neighbours again.

Last CBB launched with 6.7m.

Between 2-4 Million, depending on who they have from the launch better characters will make more people inclined to tune in.
