She wanted to crack America, I had no problem with that. I'm not really bothered by the UK version anymore, I think it's run it's course.

Updates:

Cheryl Cole was dropped from the judging panel on "X-Factor" largely because producers were concerned her English accent would be too difficult for an American audience to understand ... sources close to the production tell TMZ.

There were other issues too -- we're told Cheryl and fellow judge Paula Abdul had a "lack of chemistry" ... and Cheryl was more expendable.

Producers now want Cheryl to return to the UK version of the show -- but according to sources, Cheryl's royally pissed over how this situation was handled ... and may sever ties with "X-Factor" entirely.

With Cheryl out, Steve Jones will be the only host on the show -- which debuts in September -- while Nicole Scherzinger fills the open seat on the judging panel.

A senior X Factor source said tonight: "It hasn't worked out for Cheryl. She is homesick and wants to return to the UK. She's had enough.

"Whether she goes back to British X Factor is open to speculation."

A TV insider revealed: "This will be a huge blow to Cheryl.

"The saga of whether she would get the gig dragged on for so long - and then to be pulled after a few recordings would be awful.

"It would be a blow to Simon too. He spent so long choosing the panel he would have wanted to get it right first time."

I knew they would use the term 'homesick' to describe this when it's obvious that the producers just didn't want her anymore. I bet Paula had something to do with this too, she's said to have had no chemistry with Cole so I wouldn't be surprised if she said she wanted her off the show.

I don't think she was axed. That would be way harsh and I don't think Simon would do that especially after all he did to get her the gig. Maybe she just decided it was too much of a big move and prefers to do XF UK again instead?

The only people that Simon allows himself to be dictated to are the Americans though, he is always on about the States and he would never cross the American producers for his shows.

If this is true and she was dropped,then likely he was given his way initially to have her included but they haven't liked what they've seen and heard of Cheryl Cole and now he is overruled, for his prestige in the States he would accept that and allow even her to be dropped,I am sure of that.

Cheryl hates criticism of herself,although she likes to dish it out in big measure. She's not homesick,she's rarely in the UK anyway.
