EyeToy was more fun than Kinect imo, but Sony did nothing with it in the end and just focused on their crappy PS Move.

I didn't say I liked Kinect though. So far it is just a casual fappers paradise but then the device happens to be hooked up to this console it requires that has a massive catalogue of excellent games for virtually everyone.

Microsoft are covering all the angles. And I completely trust them to push hardcore - I hate using that term - I completely trust them to push games on it if it continues to sell. They know where their bread is buttered.

I think Nintendo have learned from their mistakes, look at the 3DS. I can name more proper games for it then casual ones and it's got a lot of third party support from respected developers and franchises, It had a bad launch but the upcoming games will make up for it I think.

The problem with the Wii is that they didn't push the mountains of quality games they had for it enough so all the good companies abandoned it so now there's only Nintendo's own games and the odd good third party game to look forward to. Nintendo needs to support third party developers as it'll be them that'll attract the true gamers back to this console.

True, the 3DS has many games made by third party developers but they're not that good at the moment. Nintendo are taking their time with the big names for 3DS, which is a shame. I wouldn't mind about the third party games if they were really good, but at the moment I don't think they're anything special.

The Kinect looks to have some actual hardcore support coming up too, the new Ghost Recon has it, Metal Gear Solid Rising would be AMAZING with Kinect

And yeah it'd be brilliant to have a proper interactive shooter.
I bought my Xbox just for the Kinect. And I want that game he wants - Kinectimals. But yeah it totally blew me away when I booted it up and used it for the first time. Its so intuitive and barking orders at it so fun. I had my mates round for a sleepover and we were al yelling at it to do stuff to see if it would recognise our voices and 90% of the time it would. xD

Hahaha ah well, each to their own. I just personally wouldn't get it and then pay more for Kinect. It's like getting a Wii for Wii Fit tbh. Haha. That's clever. If I had an Xbox I'd get a Kinect but I asked for a PS3 last year so I'm fine with that.

I doubt it'll be something that's mandatory in all games, A lot of DS games used it well enough as a menu or a map screen. It's not going to be something that'll detract from it I think.

It'll just be for such revolutionary features as displaying an ammo counter.

At least the Wii has a very sizable library of good games to boast about, I can't think of any true games for the Kinect.

It's a doomed product that'll die out sooner rather then later.
Its only been out for a little while. We'll see what happens at E3.

Pmsl I was thinking this. It depends on the size of the touchscreen though tbf. It might not be that awkward to use.

It's too late, it's been out for what, a year now? All it's got at the moment is high hardware sales, exactly the same as the Wii, IIRC the game sales haven't been impressive at all because like we saw on the Wii, the casual audiences doesn't buy many games. You'll only get a few big hits out of the casual audience in comparison to games aimed at actual gamers and that'll scare off the major third party developers as their high cost games won't be able to outshine the cheap likes of Louise Redknapp's Exercise: Heavy Metal Yoga Edition or Fairground games #455434. Microsoft have repeated Nintendo's mistakes letter for letter and it was evident since they first revealed it.

The Playstation Move has done a much better job really at finding a middle ground, it's sold decently well and they haven't saturated their own market with cheap crap to sustain it.

I'd say give the touch screen a chance, it worked best on the DS when it wasn't overdone so I think it's got every chance of working here since Nintendo's had a good 6-7 years to perfect it. I imagine in games like Silent Hill and such it would be used for puzzles and such. I'm guessing it'll just be a small feature and not the main USP of the console.
