The first time I ever used it I was standing with a scanned item in my hand whilst trying to scan another one... it was telling me to put the scanned item in the bag... I was totally like and checking the floor and moving about as I thought it had weighed me and knew I still had something in my hand!

well they dont have one person watching each self serve till

they have one person watching one screen with several self serve tills on it. Then if somebody looks suspicious they focus in on that person and check that the items on camera match whats listed on their screen.

That drives me mad,arista, I spend longer there than in a queue and getting through a normal checkout,plus I don't really like to support the self serve checkouts as it's obvious they are closing normal checkouts and therefore staff may be eventually losing their jobs because of them.

Until today, I would definitely have said self service, I usually find I am a lot quicker than the checkout people.

However, I used the ones in morrisons for the first time and nearly actually screamed at the thing this afternoon. They are ****ing awful. everywhere else they are fine.
