So who therefore are we to believe? what is in the bible or what those who represent God on this earth, preach?

What therefore is the point of repenting / going to confession / asking for sins to be forgiven then?

The bible says one thing (or rather many things), but that's not the message given out by those who spread the Lord's word here on earth is it?

Not at all. I really feel its just a path that people wish to follow to self validate themselves. Believe there is life after death and feel someone is on their side. It's very comforting to feel this but I don't think any of its true. Just what people want to believe to make them feel like there is some meaning to life. A lot of religious folk will follow religion but bend it to their own rules. I find it bewilding that some people lead their life through a bible or an existence that isn't even rule. A lot of issues stem from religion.

I haven't a clue what to believe. I don't think I want to believe anything strictly. I'm quite open-minded with it, I'll hear one theory and think "oh yeah that's quite a good idea" but then hear another view which is very different and think about that too.
