I am getting better at avoiding what would be termed as arguments but if I get into a, shall we describe it slightly heated debate, I tend to go on and on, if I know my facts are right or the perspective I am coming from is a fair one then I won't yell or get nasty or insult another person but I will keep making what I see as valid points and stressing them too.

However, I am studying Politics and Law so both require a confrontational and determined argument approach to be successful in.

None of the above. I don't sulk, I don't bang things, I don't scream and I don't do the silent treatment.

If a small argument: I'm pretty cutting and very sarcastic.
and go into 'direct hit' mode verbally:- once it's done, it's over and done with.

I have a tongue that is sharper than any razor blade when I'm pushed far enough: I will literally rip someone to shreds with it - I don't tend to go into that mode often: because when I do - there usually is no turning back - I metaphorically go for jugular and 'hit' them where I know it will hurt - and bad. I've only ever done that about 3 times in my life: and each person I wanted to ensure it would end all contact with forevermore - with absolutely no regrets either.
