A major mistake here is taking this guy at his word. He was never in danger of becoming a statistic. His day in the warehouse, came as part of a management scheme to show the bosses what their peasant staff do on a daily basis. Then they can turn round like this guy, and say he knows what they go through and what challenges they face in their daily work day. It's all an illusion, though.
