Most fms who are top of the popularity stakes most likely wouldn't be good mods for obvious reasons- it can be hard to separate friendship from having to be tough.

One or two that are exceptions to that rule would be Joeysteele & Livia - off the top of my head. There are quite a few more names but it's too early in the morning for me!

Good Morning, Pyramid*, hope you are having a good weekend and I agree with what you say in bold.

I personally would not like to be a mod.
In the future,I will have to oversee likely lots of people in the profession I eventually decide to follow but I would hope then I make things simple and not so severe to being 'tough', using more tolerance and compromise to win the day rather than 'rule' the roost.

On here I don't know most people at all,I have friendly connections with a good many now but know too little to decide if they are really being vindictive and require some severe punishment procedure.
For those reasons I would be at best only possibly a fair in peformance mod and likely an ineffectual one too.

I think you sell yourself short - and I suspect you do cotton on but probably err on the side of 'compassion!' - but isn't always a bad thing.

Some names on the list that I really like the fms but don't nec think they'd be good mods - but hey: everyone has to learn and everyone starts somewhere. For the younger more level headed fms - it's a great introduction to how to deal with people/manage.

To be honest, I think my reputation with some users has been quite a lot damaged, given my absolutely horrendous first stint, but I've definitely changed for the better and I'm a different person now. I do agree. Of course, not being able to be a regular posting member, that won't prevent a mod from forming their own personal preference to some fms. It would be daft to think it would.

What is does do however: is limits how much they become personally involved in friendships, and allowing their own views being tainted because of friendships. Not everyone has the ability to not care if they are liked or not, but that will naturally interfere to a great degree. That's perfectly natural - it's being able to have the ability to override that personal attachment that I think makes a good mod.
