The thread was pointing out that image macros are called memes, when in fact not all image macros actually meet the criteria for actually being a meme

But the fact that they have been named memes in itself have has become a literal meme.

I have got bored of a lot of image macros now, since they repeat the same joke over and over. Putting words on an image doesnt automatically make something a meme, to make it a literal meme, it must become popular and spread across a section of the internet.
