I suppose people will try tell us that him falling down the stairs at the beginning of Big Brother was due to his torrettes...

What has any HM "done"? In my opinion, participating in the tasks, being a sound HM, and generally being part of the group and a kind person is what I expect.
I don't think the winner should be the loudest or the most obnoxious. Then Shabaz should come back and win with that logic.

Also, as far as Pete to win from day two - I was there from just about day one. Not because he has Tourette's, but because he's got the most star quality of any HM. Plus, he's the only HM that acts like any of my real friends do, and seems to be from the same kind of "people" as me and my friends.

I don't expect other people to like Pete just because he's kind of an East Village/Camden Town/Brooklyn type, but that's why I do.

Don't be silly. That was a pratfall. He's an entertainer, and he was "on."
If he wasn't surrounded by whining gossipers with the personalities of mushy peas, he'd be "on" a lot more.

But everyone just says "oh he'll be himself once x person goes" but each time he's just more boring than before. And when he wasn't boring, he was just a one dimensional idiot. Well, that's what I think.

you've pretty much proved my above point.. if he can't cope around other personalities then why should he be a worthy winner? People like Imogen and Michael have coped around Richard.

I don't live in Brighton, but I do live in the Lower East Side of New York. Pete would fit right in here.

In my opinion a big brother winner should have these qualities:

Humour
The strength to stick up for themselves
The strength to stick up for their friends
Strong enough to not break
Be able to bounce back from downfalls
Being themselves
Charisma
Be very spontaneous and playful

Pete has one of these and that's charisma...that's about it.

agree with all of that, but you should add "we've seen every side to them" because I think that's important.

and lambruscokid are you going to reply or what?

I don't think he has done enough to win.In the first few weeks he was pretty entertaining but from then on in he's not really done a lot. He's far too afraid of saying what he really feels in case he upsets anyone and this has led to him being fancied by the females, he's nice to them and recipricates the attention they give him and then it's no suprise that they have feelings for him and yet he does not tell them straight that he doesn't fancy them.

He's just not doing enough for me to win.

He treated the women badly I thought.
They fancied him, but he just went cold on them and latched onto another woman, which would of made them upset, i thought that was well out of order.

He seems to go around all the women who give him attention one by one but never really commits to liking them or disliking them.Bit of a tease really.

yeah, if he could actually tell them the truth and say he wanted to be friends and not then go rub it in their faces by toying with someone else i would of respected him a helluva lot more.

Sorry - other questions!

I don't care if he's funny or not, I'm watching because I like the HMs, they don't have to be comedians. Nikki was funny, but you wouldn't want that 24/7.
I just think Pete gives the house great energy, and he's a good guy.

As far as the bit about coping with other personalities, sure, but why does someone have to be a social chameleon to be cool? Right now, he's down because some of his best mates in the house are gone. Who wouldn't be?

I get the show by downloading the episodes through BitTorrent each day - and I've got the live feed from Channel 4 (just had to make my IP look like I was in the UK).

I've actually never seen the US version. I heard it wasn't as good, though. I don't know if I'd want to watch a houseful of Americans for thirteen weeks.

you don't like your country much, don't you?

And i don't see why his "friends" have gone makes him so deppressed, everyone else has lost their friends and they have been fine. She treated lea and Nikki so badly, why does he regret it now?

Maybe he might realise that he's the reason they have been chucked out anyway

Haha. I love it here. Just not sure I'd want to watch the kind of people that would be on BBUS.

As one example, try watching the Apprentice US v. The Apprentice UK. Very different contestants.

Seeing that acronym v. calling it BBUS just made me laugh, because I was thinking of what else BBUS might stand for. Since there's BBLB, perhaps there should be a show called BBUS - "Big Brother's Ugly Sister"
