Muse are another band who I've noticed are uncool to like. I don't get why though I find most of their music refreshing and a bit different. Is it just since their popularity has risen they're now 'too commercial'?

There is way too much 'hating commercial music' these days. Fair enough a lot if is genuinely terrible, but if you like something, you like it. Shouldn't matter how 'indie' or how popular it is either way idgi.

I tend not to mind if a lot of people dislike celebs or things for no good reason, I feel I'm pretty good at making my own mind up.

Although I sometimes get pangs of jealousy, but that soon passes, and I try and be happy for those achieving things that I would like to achieve in my life.

I think there is a danger when you begin to let hate enter your heart, it does far more damage to you that the person you're hating on.

Jessie J has a nice voice and is a good songwriter (PARTY IN THE USA, anyone?), but I do wish she'd stop the vocal acrobatics... it may be tricky to do, but it's unpleasant to hear.

I think she may just be keeping in trend with the ongoing infantilisation of women in pop culture lately... a lot of singers are singing with a childish, annoying nasal sound... and the age boundary around when a girl's deemed hot and sought-after seems to be a lot lower.
