Mixed ethnicity is as important as mixed age, weight, interests, etc. I want variety because it makes for a more interesting show

Mixed ethnicity is great when you have housemates who have come from different parts of the world but someone who is English and born, bred and lives in London does it matter whether they're black or white?

I just don't think BB should throw in someone from Indian, Nigerian, Chinese or any other culture just to make it on the surface look diverse.

BB is about personality not the colour of your skin.

Its quite offensive actually that people think white people cant be diverse or are all the same.

It's also known as positive discrimination to want a black person purely for the sake of having a black person.

There have been sensible discussion that have all turned to sh*t . During BB8 when a contestant called another the n word this place went into meltdown. There were about half a dozen people perm banned over a couple of days. The comments were disgusting and I dont intend to go thru that again. I dont think there can be a sensible discussion on this subject on this forum.

I do however think its legitimate question that given the 100's of thousands of applicants no black applicant made the final cut.

What a stupid thing to say, it's not because they are white it's because the majority of housemates are white. If they were all black, or Chinese, I'd say the same thing.

Erm don't know where you got that figure from.

I believe there were about 20 thousand people applying for BB this year...If that.

It was all done via youtube and sending applications via the internet.

So why are people complaining theres no black people?

Anyway, I don't think the forum 6 years ago fully reflects much of the forum now.

And discussing a relevant topic of racism when it's taken place in the show such as the incident in BB8 is one thing, trying to find racism where there is none is another.

As I said Britain is a predominantly white country so when you put 9 or 10 strangers in a house, the odds are they'll be white (although one of them is Asian IIRC). If we were 13 years in and there'd been no black housemates you'd have a point, as it is 8 white people out of 60+ million people living in Britain isn't strange at all.

Last year had Adam, Shivonne and Deana so its just based on personality not race.

Noone complains about the lack of lesbians over the years but when its race everyone goes into overdrive its pathetic.
