The wild overreaction to two women fighting, and Britain's bizarre love of censorship in general. Bad casting as well.

For me, the revamp that C5 did to it lessened my enjoyment. Didn't ruin it exactly, otherwise I wouldn't watch altogether, but I don't particularly like elements such as music accompanying the housemates arriving, Marcus being overused and over-the-top, montages, etc. I also want the nostalgic look back at the series during the finale to return, C5's take on those have been crap.

A mix of three things. It started with Jade's comments. They started to ease off controversy after that and nudity got scarce too and they played it safe. The tackiness introduced in BB11 and built upon on the move to Channel 5, I dislike those montages and music, the names on screen I can live with and Marcus I can live with. The fundamental rule of the outside world was also broke which I hated it defeats the social experiment aspect of the show.

Other > The show being brought back to our screens too soon.

If the format was left for 5-10 years and then brought back with a fresh new look it could kick off in a great way again. As you have a massive change in audience. C5 brought it back when the television audience that stopped watching the show was the same. If they gave it a 10 year break there would be a massive shift and pretty much a clean slate for new viewers to be introduced to the format.

One almost good example would be Doctor Who. BBC cancel it. They bring it back 15 years later and it's now one of the most popular shows on telly again. Big Brother really should have gone that way.

The thing that gets me the most is that the new Director of Channel 5 wanted a more serious approach but all he did was change the presenters BOTS was exactly the same and even less up market with the two new presenters who are awful and I doubt that the editing has changed at all by the looks of it I am sure the task team, Jamie , Alice and Jamie, Helen and a Brian are all gutted.

Move to Channel 5.
Big Brother should have been allowed to die for a few years before it was resurrected.

Moving to Channel 5 was the worst blow to the series ever. Desmond basically bought the show so he could fill his papers and magazines with the fake wannabe housemates. Also, having Brian as a host, the tacky music and editing.

Big Brother. A parody of it's former self since 2011.

How can you put the Jade + Shilpa situation in that list

The Jade + Shilpa situation put the show on the all the major national news programmes

That did more for the publicity and promotion of the show than anything else

The Jade incident changed the way the media treated Big Brother, they all turned their backs on the show.

The repulsive Goody and her repellent "fambly" .....

I've just had a horrible flashback of Tweedy spurting on one of Goody's haunches .....

The race row affected its popularity and also made the show start to play it safe.

But after 13 years, the show is pretty much spent. With or without the race row, people grow tired of a format. The X Factor is beginning (or already begun) its decline now and gets a lot of bad press compared to the early years.

It's a shame though. If the show had been left to rest after channel 4 had the last UBB to end on a high then it could have had quite a big comeback in 3-4 years. Channel 5 not only picking it up but bleeding it dry has only killed it more tbh.

It's just overegged and we've seen every possible twist. It's now purely down to the strength of the housemates and the tasks, and thankfully they're still succeeding in that regard. It's just no longer the hot new thing to talk about (other reality shows, talent shows and scripted-reality shows have stolen its thunder in that regard).

Never mind that Shaun, what i wanna know is, what's happening with the top ten's in the music section?

What's the Damon Albarn result? and who's next? the suspense is killing me.

The original format appealed to certain people, these wannabees don't really appeal to anyone.
If you've seen one model drinking herself clever and a bloke with an ego the size of a small principality you've seen them all.....

..I don't think that it is ruined, I just think that Channel 5 are trying to make it into a completely different show and maybe if they had done that and changed the name etc, it would have been better because otherwise it'll always be compared in a way of losing certain things..I['m enjoying it much more now that I'm not comparing it to Channel 4 anymore...

I think it was just kinda a perfect storm. After the Jade scandal things came down from the show's climax of BB5 and BB6 and entered kind of a downward slope. Channel 4 knew when to kill it off. The Channel 5 move only made things worse. I'm happy its still on in a way I guess, but maybe its not for the better.

I voted other.
Some of the arrogant nobwipes that follow the show that think they have a right to tell them how to run the show and do their jobs and if they dont get everything their own way cry like babies and post hateful threads are a pet hate of mine.

These type of "fans" are too stupid to realise the harm the do to the show they already caused channel 4 to scarper and seem set to see off channel 5 as well and leave us without any big brother.

Chavtastic.
At least these little brats that ruined it were too young to watch the first 5-6 series of the show and we have that to remember how great it once was.

I dont think its ruined. As someone else said, its been going 14 years now and people get bored despite how much they tweak it.
Theres also, i think, a sense of snobbery regarding BB.
Admit in general conversation that you watch it and people look down their noses at you as if you're saying you're a Sun reader.

the focus on the younger viewers and what the producers think they want to see. but this series looks like they are changing this.

About time, no true fans want to see people go in as mad a box of frogs... We want that to be a slow drawn out occurrence over the course of the series
My pet hate are those who focus heavily on the presenters and furniture.. That is not for me what BB is about it's purely human interest,
