I usually have a quiet night in with friends as we're not really fans of big nights out. We usually tend to do something special a few days later for my birthday.

Done away with the getting to bed at 5 in the morning to then get up to all the boozy party mess.
Now if hubby is off (as he will be this year), weather permitting I want to go up on the moors and watch the fireworks, you get to see them from miles away.
Lovely cafe that does hot drinks and good food as well.

It makes me sad that I hate New Year so much. When I was younger, by now I would have had tickets to a club, be planning outfit and supplies etc.... Now when the day comes I shut the doors and windows, watch **** tv, drink myself stupid and quite often have a good cry.

Well in the past I'm usually visiting my dad so am just in the house watching the fireworks (which I do actually enjoy), have been to the occasional house party but this year now I'm 18 I would like if possible to get absolutely ****ing battered

I actually haven't done anything since I had kids... It used to be a huge thing, and we'd spend the night first footing and stay up partying all night, but now Dave gets huge money for gigging at Hogmanay so I choose to stay in on my own.. I let the kids stay up late and the 3 of us stand in a wee circle and sing along with Auld Lang Syne, then when they go to bed, I get all emotional, have a good cry, then Dave comes home we have a baileys or two and go to bed..
It's all very boring and lonely compared to what it used to be, but I do like being all fresh and not hungover on New Year's Day.. The 4 of us meet all our family and friends in the pub for a few drinks then we go to my mums for steak pie etc.
this year however I think the kids are maybe old enough to do a bit if first footing, and joining in the festivities
