Yes, but it's true. They all have contracts, you can't write them out until said contract expires.

Otherwise you'll be paying them until the end of the contract for doing no work. Not very good usage of the license fee.

Exactly. Waterhog doesn't seem to understand that you absolutely cannot stop an actor from working and thus getting paid because the character is a waste. Otherwise the likes of Fatboy and insipid Joey would have long pissed off.

Business over sentiments and all that. Popular soaps are no exception.
