That is probably very accurate however often now in General elections near 40% of those over 18 eligible to vote don't vote either and in local elections it can be more like over 60% don't vote.
I still think it may be rather surprising how many 16/17 year olds actually would vote if they were able to. |

I think there are more young people have a social conscience, enabling them to vote would be a great way to get them thinking and caring more about local and national issues.
