99% of Metal is awful and cheesy and it's only cool when you are 13. I have a burning hatred for ardent metalheads.

I can't think of anything else. I know there's more though.

Metal is one of the hardest musics to play though, it requires more skill to get everything in sync than nearly all music, so in that respect, it doesn't get enough respect/praise

and also to hate metal isn't particularly controversial Lol outside of those who love it, nearly everyone hates it

It's a good point. Black metal has some of the most insanely genius, virtually unknown guitar players in the world. And growling is a total strain on the vocal chords and not something anyone can do [someone like a Dani Filth is incredible] but it's the weird pre pubescentness of it all that's a bit of an odd one.

I love Cradle Of Filth but I think that's about it. I love Manson too and whatnot but that falls into more of an industrial tinged, poppy, transgressive Venn diagram [my favourite of Venn's].

Adults who are persistently into bands like Bullet For My Valentine, AX7 and Trivium ... I mean there is something sorta underdeveloped going on there.

Also most metal songs are persistently about nothing in exactly the same way as a lot of the pop they get so up in their tits about is about nothing. They're like rhyming David Gemmel books with no emotional narrative.

Oh yeah Slipknot are fantastic too obviously. But they have charm and an image and poppy hooks. They're just total chaos.
