Jim said during the nominations that he never brought up the situation with Linda's husband. We all know this is not true. This was clearly a lie and a two-faced statement. How can you defend this and why should I still like Jim when he does have such a nasty streak and makes many two faced comments.

I'm genuinely looking for a Jim fan to try and explain this to me. I just want to understand where you Jim fans are coming from because if it weren't for many of the things he says I would be on board with him.
I'm not really a die-hard Jim fan... couldn't stand him before he went in but I do want him to win now because I feel I know a bit more about him. As far as his comment about Linda's husband's situation, I will say this: Linda was a complete bitch to Jim, insulting, spiteful and unreasonable in the extreme. She repeatedly called him a sexist and mentioned several times the fact he'd beaten women in the past, despite Jim admitting to the fact and saying he wasn't proud of that time in his life and that he'd turned his life around. As far as I'm concerned, the venom that was directed at Jim from Linda meant all bets were off.

I don't think Jim fans will know if he is a nice person. here's my take:

He is a complex person. He is self-aware and admitted that he was masking the less attractive sides of his personality; he spoke of struggles with addiction; he spoke very highly of his wife, and paid tribute to her ability to keep the family together and stick with him; he even admitted that his family don't really like him. He accepted nominations in good part, even when Lee nominated him. He had a whole range of skills which helped him to deal with conflict: negotiation, apologising, wit, smart come-backs, walking away etc.. This shows he has worked on his anger issues and that deserves respect. Housemates criticised him for the things he said to Linda, but they weren't criticising Linda for the things she said to him. Was this because of Linda's influence or because we weren't able to see the whole story? Viewing the live feed, her friends were commenting on how bitter Linda seemed and how funny Jim was in comparison, and at that point they were seeing everything. Sam blamed Linda's behaviour on Jim, saying that he needled her when the cameras weren't on. Presumably Linda has told her this, but Linda twists things and get them wrong at times.

Someone posted a link to this article:

What sort of person would include tasteless, cruel jokes aimed at amputees etc. in a stage act? Someone who is very, very callous and thoughtless? Someone with a personality disorder or autism? Or is Jim just a rough and ready type who has to gear his act to his audience? He tried something very different a few years ago, and it flopped. So he's gone back to stand-up.

He appears to empathise with people on BB - is he just stepping into all the drama so he can appear on the camera like an all-round decent bloke, or is it genuine? Liz said he ignored her in favour of the more attractive girls... but that's not what I saw. The younger ones have louder voices and in an animated group everyone tends to talk over everyone else. Liz has a quiet voice, and doesn't generally assert herself in group situations. I don't actually think he is any more sexist than a lot of other people I meet in everyday life.

I think he'd have won me over if he'd used the second half of his campaign speech as an opportunity to shine. Instead he delivered a blistering appraisal of Luisa - saying she is "plain", attacking her appearance as fake, and saying she is as fake as her appearance. Why did he do that? Why not pull her up on her behaviour or attitudes in the house? Why not come out with proper, specific criticisms. To me, attacking someone's appearance is just plain nasty. I was disappointed in the lack of wit. I think Luisa's campaign against lee beat Jim's hands down. It was a humourous poke at someone who is behaving very badly and was spot on: Lee is very vain and a womaniser. It's a shame that these were not included in the main programme, because I think they say a lot about Jim and Luisa respectively.

I haven't warmed to Jim, but he did gain my respect, and I admired the way he handled himself in situations which must have been very difficult to take. Would I vote for him? No. Do I think he is a worthy winner? Yes, as is Luisa.

Lots of comedian's have tasteless jokes as part of their routines, not just Jim. At the end of the day they are just jokes & lots of people do find those sort of jokes funny... Obviously some people just have a different sense of humour it doesn't mean they are autistic ffs

I didn't say he was.. I was just presenting it as one of several possibilities.

You might not think it so funny if you lost both your arms in a horrific accident which devasted you and left you unable to wipe your own bottom, then someone called you a sausage, to make everyone laugh at you.
