Of course it is, she was in there for 3 weeks. These are her opinions and you keep banging on about how everyone is entitled to their own. You're only dismissing it because it doesn't say what you want it to say.

How do you know? Were you in there, or going by what BB has shown everyone?

She got things wrong. Maybe she heard wrong, because she's deaf. Who knows? But she comes across as a snob to me.

Yes and Jim comes across as a rude, sexist and underhanded moron to me and quiet a few others. We don't care for this every excuse under the sun from his fans to justify his behavior, it is how we perceive him, just like Liz perceives Jim and she was there first hand. So no, she is not wrong, you may not like nor agree with it, but that still doesn't make her wrong.

Some people dislike Jim so much ,they really want this to be true, and although it's obviously billy bullshine,it's just the thing they need to justify their dislike. This is how people get a bad name, others throw mud and some sticks !!

It's a great article, but typical of Liz Jones. She really doesn't really understand that she might hurt people when she writes about them like that. She has fallen out with friends after writing about them, and she had to move house because of writing about all the locals. If she hadn't described the HMs as "stupid" it wouldn't have been bad, but it's snobbish to dismiss others and feel superior to them because of your intellect - everyone has something different to offer.

"Dappy, who was covered in so many tattoos I was driven to reading them all one evening, so desperate was I for a book, and who in a general knowledge test scored only six per cent, which embarrassed him hugely, proved himself a gentleman when for the third night in a row I was sat in the bedroom toilet, vomiting from the stress. He held my hair from my face, and rubbed my back, cooing all the while".
What a lovely guy.

Not a pleasant article was it ! and for someone that claims to be unimpressed by celebrity , Jim's saying that she wasn't famous sure seems to have scarred her hasn't it!..lol... anyway...She was a nobody to me before she went in the house...and now...i'm beginning to forget her already!

Liz's article could have been written in a nicer way, and still got a lot of readers, maybe a better article for being nice. I think that a nasty article is her way of identifying readers, and making money, but I personally wanted a nice article. However some of her points are interesting.. the secrets...
Linda self harming. Somebody taking pills, and alcohol.

Describing people as "stupid", "inane", "so-called intelligent" and saying that reality show viewers are "secretaries, supermarket till operatives and hair salon creatives" etc. is very intellectually snobby, and the article would have been nicer if she'd omitted that sort of thing.

Liz is a pragmatist, her literal interpretations of the HMs are raw and come from a mind uncluttered by celebby social etiquette.
Well done her, a great read. * I invented the word celebby*

![]() I agree, but these are real people she is talking about, and it seems hurtful to describe them as "stupid" or "inane", especially when she herself hardly opened her mouth for the first two weeks. She has been equally "pragmatic" about friends, neighbours and other people she knows who are not celebs. Most of them are no longer talking to her.

So IMO that invalidates any and all of her opinions or claims as to what went on in the house, the woman is a joke now. |

It was cathartic... it took you through how she felt during her experience, including her preconceptions and misconceptions.... It was wonderful, sympathetically written.
The public are till ops and hairdressers, and reality TV is escapism.... I don't see an issue with highlighting that fact.

Ho hum. I was giving some examples to someone who was wondering in what way the piece was snobby. I liked the piece too. No probs if you don't agree that by describing the viewers of reality shows as till ops and hairdressers, rather than doctors and lawyers she is displaying intellectual snobbery.

I'm sorry you feel that way, luckily she relented and wrote one.
Ho hum?.... Intellectual snobbery, for stating that the target demographic for MIC is secretaries, till ops and hairdressers (women 18-40s) If you say so, I wouldn't overanalyse her intent too much.
