there is no good excuse to keep animals like this in captivity. all large animals like this need the wild. all zoos are guilty of this.

there is no excuse for the word Zoo to exist. end them all now, and if you must, keep some sancuarys.

The difference between a zoo and a sanctuary, is that a zoo is designed for the public's entertainment. A sanctuary is designed for an animal to thrive.

Get rid of zoos and all the work and funding they put into conservation work goes too. They aren't ideal but they do help out in the wild too

i'd rather donate to a real conservation group, than to a zoo which is just using the money to fund an animal jail.

Have you seen the CNN documentary "Black Fish"?

All of the issues raised in that movie are just as applicable to large land animals as it is to the large sea creatures they documented.

They should not be in captivity, period.

i expect better from that country. pure animals they are no better than the wild animals they capture and keep captive.
that sort of thing goes on alot except its behind the doors. they should be stooped from running a zoo. and if i had myway beheaded and fed to the lions.
