..yeah I agree, I think they’re fairly grim in general but I also think the females are as well....they seem particularly aggressive and nasty in their bitchiness...for me bitchiness can be quite comical as well but it just seems so bitter this year...Ash for me is the worst of the males, not only because of his arrogance because I also think that sometimes arrogance can be entertaining when it’s quite delusional but his just isn’t ..he said last night that if it was just the guys, they would just be sat around like they were and all chilled or words to that effect ..well that to me would make him the sort of housemate I really don’t want to see because he sees no need to ‘entertain’ and I guess that’s part of his arrogance, to think he can just sit at the smoking area and coast along with the guys....

..I think that arguments/drama etc are equally as boring though if that’s all there is...I think the problem is for me is just the lack of any entertaining housemates who aren’t entertaining only through negativity but they are actually creating interest...Aaron was kind of the ‘king’ for that but in the past there has also been others...Mark seems to come the closest to I think being the best housemate...I think there are some housemates that seem like nice people, like Christopher and Chris but atm they’re also quite bland or just not being shown enough so are kind of coming across as a bit boring...but yeah, whether with the males or female, a good housemate to me means entertaining/someone who makes me laugh or someone very interesting...not entertaining as in a fairly horrid person....

I was just thinking that. Outside of Jemima, Sam and Sophie the rest of that cast was flawless. It was my personal favorite and even though the twists sucked and there weren't as many arguments as this year. That series made you feel so much for all of those housemates whether you loved them or hated them. And they also had so much fun in that house last year. I miss them all. Even Dexter and I ****in hated him.

YES! I was literally so involved in BB14, because I felt so much for each and every housemate. I remember being so invested in each eviction and being so pumped to watch every highlights show. I miss them all too Although I personally think Jemima and Sam were great too. Remember the "my daughter died" argument she had? It was hysterical. Sophie was the only poor housemate that year really.

That's only because Ash fans (and Toya fans, must admit) wouldn't/won't stop talking about them 24/7 to even consider that there are other HMs in there.

I'm actually happy my favourite's gone now, just because I can watch the show from a non-biased point of view and kind of start over again with my choosing faves and stuff.

BB6 & BB12's males were actually better than the overall females of the cast

Do you mean for those respective seasons or compared to this year's girls. If so I thought that BB14 was better than this year's female cast too in my opinion.

its not often we agree Barker but yes definitely the worst I reckon. The guys who look any way fit are airheads, Mark and Christopher are too camp and Chris well Chris is just too laid back

Cowboy Callum was a great housemate. He wasn't boring at all. I'd say along with Hazel, Dan, Gina and Dexter they were the best housemates that whole year. I can't disagree about Sam though sadly. Cool guy just on the wrong show.

I think the males housemates (i hate people calling them a cast) are pretty good, if anything its a poor female set of housemates that cant relax and feel comfortable with themselves they feel the need to prove themselves because of being insecure and just come across as aggressive and horrible.

The guys are pretty much just getting on with life comfortable with who they are. Willing to have a laugh with each other but defend themselves just when they have to.

If anything its a crap set of female housemates.

They have been the most talked about all week. Yeah Jale was more involved but i wasn't comparing Christopher to her, I was just giving my example of how hes been involved. A lot of it to me sounds like you don't like any of them at all that shouldn't take away the fact they've all supplied their bits to the show. Pauline and Toya were bloody awful, but they still created talking points.
Then if you accept the talking points argument and are even listing talking points the male housemates have provided to justify their position and role in the show, why would you or did you want to get rid of people like Pauline and Toya who as you've just agreed created talking points as well? Surely by that logic we should get rid of all of the males you listed too?

I agree that the male cast isn't that bad and people like Ash, Mark, Christopher, Steven, Matthew and Chris (although he's a bit tenuous cause he had to be given a role through the Power Housemate twist) have provided things, but either you support keeping those who create the talking points in the show or not it can't be one rule for one gender and another for another

This thread isn't about our favourites Jack, I've listed that Steven creates talking points, but i want to see him gone. I'm different to you, I don't want housemates in the house i dislike just because they create discussions. I'm replying to this thread that the males aren't as bad as they've been made out to be. You've just made an assumption from my post.

Almost none of these are talking points though. I'm sure there was RIVETING discussion over when Marlon tripped, what a ****ing deep moment!

Yes by far. A terrible, terrible male cast - BB13 had a pretty **** male cast too though but at least that had Benedict and Chris.

BB6 male cast > everything

Well that's fair enough but I've not made any assumptions...you were the first person in this thread to bring up the fact that some of the male housemates are 'providing' and creating talking points as a way of arguing that the male cast isn't that bad, so if you don't agree with the talking points argument as means of justifying a housemate's worth why did you bring it up? That's the bit I don't get

Thats because the males are providing, my points were added to the whole discussion and theme of this thread. You've switched this around & taken this way out of context and you're confusing me now. I couldn't care less if the likes of Steven and Matthew were evicted tomorrow, i'm not justifying their stay because i don't really like them, my posts were describing that the males aren't as boring & as bad as the OP made out. This doesn't mean to say i like them all, its just a fact. The same way i'd bring up Pauline, Toya, Helen and Jale if this thread was aimed at females being boring/bad this year, i dont like any of those 4 and it wouldn't bother me if they were evicted, but they bring discussion to the rest of the forum.

The males this year are awful, mostly fakes and bores. The only thing I can get behind is Mark & Matthew's friendship... otherwise, meh.
