It really depends on how it's done, the intention is what makes it offensive, not the accent itself.

Good example of this is in BB10, when Marcus was called in for imitating Sree's accent. He said that Kris does the same thing with Freddie all the time, and it's meant to offend, the only reason Marcus is being called out is because Sree is Indian.

You are wasting your breath sunshine, let the Helen haters have their day. If she shouted the word potato in a high pitched tone, someone would slate her for being racist.

I am Irish and take no offence so why should some of these so called haters, total rubbish and its getting so bad, the very people that call foul at every corner are the very people ruining the show because the prods are so frightened to let anything happen.

Cant they see that this is why these things are not being shown and when they are hidden, the very same people demand them to be shown. Its all too much to take in. A bad case of dammed if you do and dammed if you dont.

I agree with this, it's why I was so annoyed in that thread a few weeks ago where people were admitting to complaining to Ofcom over the Helen and Pauline supposed 'bullying' (which it wasn't)...I think some people don't understand that Ofcom don't have the power to determine what production decisions are made within the show, just what Channel 5 are allowed to broadcast. All that would mean is incidents like this aren't shown and will remain a total mystery (Freezer Gate from BB12 anyone?), watering down this programme even more.

If you want something changed on the show, complain to Channel 5 or Endemol directly.

LOL the people on this forum would have had a meltdown and the show would probably have been taken off air

I do genuinely think the Big Brother audience have become a lot more sensitive as the years go on, I genuinely have no idea how some people coped watching series like BB6 and BB7 which were full of venom, bitching and incidents which were undoubtedly worse bullying than anything Pauline or Helen have ever done? If we had the audience we have now when that series had aired, BBUK would've been axed before the Race Row could even become a thing.
