He is ok ... but certain things don't add up. His VT was odd, his web-site is odd. He has described himself as overly polite but I have noticed that if he has a disagreement with anyone, he ends up hugging them and thinks it's ok. He has a terrible habit of backtracking which was first evident when Pauline told him she had seen his VT. Cue long earnest discussion ending in a hug.

Being close to Chris is more damaging for her atm. Atleast when she's friends with Helen she shows her fun side.

Chris and Ashleigh are friends and what friends do when they are friends is look out for one another. If Chris had said nothing there would be thread after thread saying fence sitter. Now he gets off the fence he's slated. Chris also knows Ashleigh has a boyfriend. Ashleigh has no problems with Chris her good friend. So if she has no problem then that should be it.The only reason people are singling out Chris is because he is very popular. All the other guys in the house also like Ashleigh but that's in a sexual way because they are not close friends with her to see her as anything more. Chris clearly doesn't see her as some sex object. He is looking out for his friend like many people with a strong bond do and he has no problem defending his friend or even saying that he loves his friend. That's what good friends do.

I actually really like Chris, have since Day 1

He does need to rein it in a bit though. The fact that Ashleigh looks like a baby carrying around her soft toys doesnt help, it makes him look pervy, if she were a normal 18 year old, no one would say anything.

Couldn't agree more. Most down to earth HM (in a civilised way, not "ah'll sey it 2 er fahce" type) with best diary room entries. He is in touch with his emotions and a nice guy. Oh and hasn't fallen for the collectivist hive-mind of football. Hey, he's even going to start being nicer to Pav! Because he realised he was being a bit out of order, which is very mature.

Zoe on the other hand, just not as much history, a little arrogant, a show off... And a little boring. Not that she's a terrible character but it's just an unfortunate nom line up.

I thought Chris came across well in this ep actually, but everyone's already turned on him so won't see it that way. Obviously there's more to Pav than what's been shown (hence Chris mentioning him talking about money and girls in a very shallow way), and maybe Chris is reading too much into Pav staring at Ashleigh but he just feels protective of her. I don't think it's his place to tell someone to stop looking at someone because Ashleigh hasn't complained and he's not hurting her, but it's harmless. I think it's also clear from both sides that it's completely platonic and he has a lot of respect for her (and since he's been shown to be a bit of a romantic, he may be yearning for a relationship that's as strong and full of love as Ashleigh and her boyfriend's). He probably finds her attractive (like the majority of people) and perhaps has an innocent crush but I imagine he wouldn't ever cross the line or disrespect her and if she ever made out like she was uncomfortable he would keep his distance.

Well said. I'm starting to think Chris is getting a bad edit by BB. There hasn't been an awful lot of Pav being shown, so maybe Pav has been staring at Ashleigh --afterall he didn't deny it when Chris mentioned it. (though i still don't think Chris should have confronted him about it, as it wasn't his place to do so). People seem to hate Chris so much now they need to give him a chance to redeem himself. Hopefully Zoe will go.
