Well she has a son who at 10 years of age is quite capable of writing his mum a nice letter that would have meant the world to her....in fact Winston chose Helen thinking that's who she might hear from....

Funny that...

Would be embarrassed to have a daughter like that. I pity her child. I have read on here that she slept with strange men to earn money because she was skint, and her kid needed feeding, but the other day I read an interview where she paid Ł6000 for veneers! What is the truth I wonder.

...and it keeps getting mentioned she has had loads of work done. Since her top lip doesn't seem to meet with her bottom lip...then I guess that's true...unless her veneers were done by Rylans dentist. She certainly has problems keeping her mouth shut
If that's the case then her sob story doesn't ring true...and doesn't she have her own salon?...she must have slept with the right people recently.

Helen is as hard as nails. She was the the only one to not cry over the other HM's letters. I thought it would have been nice though for her to get a letter from her son...I really really wanted to hear that, so it was disappointing. I wonder how she felt that it wasn't from her boy?
I was a bit astounded when her friend said her son was on a diet and would be glad to get cheeseburgers when Helen returned home. It made me think of an overweight kid whose Mum fed him junk food instead of cooking a decent meal for him. Why would the friend say that - it seemed like a dig to me.

It was obviously a joke, she may give him whatever he wants, to overcompensate for things she never had, her friend may have said that to suggest he'll eat what we give him here

Helen laughed so I hardly think it was serious

On the other hand, if an 11yr old is overweight then you're doing them a favour putting them on a diet now rather than a lifetime of dieting later!

Oh lets just all guess that she feeds her kid junk now, jeez and people say she's nasty,he may be overweight, doesn't mean she feeds him junk food, but if it makes you feel better to have another stick to beat her with,so be it.Why would you be 'astounded' he's not your child?

Well whether she knows it or not yet it's probably better that she doesn't see her parents. To keep abusive and dysfunctional people in your life is to invite and cultivate a bad lifestyle.

Her parents are also obviously completely terrible if she became a sex worker and was pregnant as a teenager, and furthermore if they disowned her because of these results of their completely awful parenting.

It's crystal clear that she had a very bad childhood by every indicator that she has given. And yet I see someone who is also very affectionate, and compassionate, so she has potential.

It's not crystal clear at all as we know **** all about her life growing up.

We do know that her brothers are doing alright though. Ones a nurse and the other is at uni.

It completely is.
Anybody who goes 'off the rails' as she has, has the anger issues and default to confrontation that she has, is guaranteed to have had a bad childhood. with like 150,000% certainty. 95% of a child's brain is formed in their first 5 years based on their environment; epigenetics respond to environmental factors virtually from the day of conception where literally the genes turn on or off depending on the surrounding circumstances, and the mother and child are biologically a succinct system for the first few years (those hormones that the mother's body contain are passed on to the infant in utero and through breast milk. So a stressed mother will literally be providing their child with stressed out sustenance.) Genes have not been shown to impact on personality in even a slightly significant way.

Her parents are awful and made bad decisions, and are even more awful if they would decide to disown her for responding in the normal way to an extremely dysfunctional environment. Although it's not surprising that her father would react in that arrogant, non-empathetic and non-compassionate way.

'Doing alright' is not how character and emotion are judged, and their professions don't have much to do with their inner emotional states and histories.

Well said again Bedouin. 'Escorts' as she's been called come from all sorts of back grounds. It's not money but usually family dysfunction that sets them on a different path. And while we may feel disgusted or shocked, it seems she's changed direction with her own business up and running. She more than most has, been on a journey and rather than play the past I salute her for getting out and building a new life for herself and her son.

I have read that she has said herself she became out of control at an early age and may have been one of the causes of her parental breakup.

She had anger problems at school too.

She must have had a lot of surgery from the look of her earlier photos but I think they have done a really good job on her too.

He ex boyfriend concerns me a lot, I won't write about him on here but if googled there is a lot of info about him and her which might be worrying for Ash.

Dont know why it is a big deal. She doesnt have anything to do with her father & limited contact with her mother so her letter came from her best friend. Her best friend obviously thinks a lot about her which came across in the letter. Regarding her son which i think is wrong to speculate about & make it a reason to have a go at her for been a bad mother.

Very well said, that is a low blow by any standards Ellen.

A good and fair post again from you too. Actually if I was in the Bb house, I wouldn't want letters from home, especially when I knew family and friends were able to watch me if they wanted to anyway.

Like you I saw no issue at all of getting a letter from her friend, a friend who she is likely closer to than anyone else other than her son of course.

Her son has probably been getting a bit of stick at school and from his friends about his embarrassing 'prossie' mother.

I'm am not in the least surprised Helen did not get a message from him.
