I don't think it will be too soon because he's been given time to appeal against his sentence.

In Iraq, the law states after a death sentence you have a month to appeal.

But Saddam has a mountain of evidence against him, if he appeals - I doubt it will get him anywhere

Haha I know. He wants to lesser his sentence so that he gets death by firing squad instead of hanging. He claims that death by firing squad is a more heroic way of dying.

Sorry Saddam, but no matter which way you look at it - you'll never be a hero The West has owned you.

I reckon they should put him on top of a VERY high building and just push him off

..No actually that would be a quick death do they should either hang him, burn him alive or put him in a giant pot of boiling water!!!

Combating Barbarism with barbarism, wow isnt the human race a great and wonderfull thing.
I think its sick and evil what that man did,but it is also sick to even contemplate HANGING another human,no matter how twisted they are.
disgusting and another backwards step for human kind

I'm usually all for "2 wrongs don't make a right" - but oh God, I just can't apply it to Saddam Hussein

I think hanging is just plain wrong, seriously.
There are many more ways to excact the penalty,Lethal injection,or even a firing squad is better than hanging.
and *Shock* at all the Bloodthirsty peeps on here

Oh he's got it easy He's been let off lightly.

Optionally - He could be mutilated in various forms? Stoned in public? We could systematically destroy each member of his family, mutilating, torturing....
Wait... wait... thats what HE DID.

So hanging is getting off lightly.
I'm (not really) sorry (but I respect your opinion) - but I leave all my morals behind when it becomes to pathetic little tyrants like that little piece of scum. It might be wrong, but I don't really care.

I'm not one for violence, or an eye for an eye. But he deserves all the prolonged agony and torture that's thrown at him.

It's as simple as. The sad thing is, it doesn't bring back the 148 people that he killed.

The think that gets me though, is why were doing something about Saddam, cause America and ourselves can benefit e.g. Oil, but we don't seem to give a toss about Mugabe etc, who's blatantly letting the black Zimbabweans evict, torture and kill countless white farmers.

Stinks of injustice, methinks.

I agree Pipergun. Our Government are almost as corrupt as other regimes across the world. There's numerous tyrants out there (Mugabe being one of them) that are blatently as bad - if not worse than Saddam but they don't get "airtime" because whats in it for us?
