From what I've learnt, Michelle is one of the judges for RuPaul’s Drag Race but I can't find anything about her special relationship with gays before she joined that show.
I thought I'd take a deeper look at what this 'Drag Race' is about and discovered, as I suspected, that its as an exaggerated overperformance of femininity for comic effect. Its the caricutures of overly exagerated cisigender which is not representative of gay male culture within our society.
There have been some damning American blogs about this show from run of the mill gay right actavists, who suggest this new drag identity Michelle and her fan base are promoting is damaging how hetrosexuals may view them. Only a small percent of the gay male community wear feather boa's, wigs and fishnet stockings but this is the only sub section that Michelle Visage appears to be supporting.
