Or that people wanted to buy the single, like myself.

Just get over the fact she won, and is successful.
No matter how much you want the single, or her to fail, at this moment in time its not happening!

I thought you might have the single. How many times have you played it? How long do you think you will play it for? And is it on you ipod or mp3 player? I think you might find the appeal of the song wears off quicker than you think. If the song was her own work, then I think the appeal of the song would be greater.

I was reading yesterday that Cowell said they had loads of new songs sent into the X-Factor but they couldn't find any suitable for the finalists. I still can't see why with the money they make from the show they can't commission two new songs for the finalists. It still seems silly to rehash an old song for a single. It just goes to show what they think of the finalists that they don’t trust them to do anything but covers.

I don’t care if she won or not and I don’t consider a single hit to make her a success. It takes more than a single hit. I lost count of the number of one hit wonders that have come and gone years ago. At the moment she is a one hit wonder. And thinking back there has been better original songs from some of the other one hit wonders in the past.

I more concerned about the rigging of the Christmas chart by the X-Factor, the influence of TV and whether Leona is true star material (see long post on page 1).

I want her to find herself and become a true artist. One with some grit and a opinion who can sing songs about things that matter with feeling and not another manufactured pop star. Her voice is too good to be wasted

What you’re saying essentially is not an attack towards the girl personally, it’s moreso about the fact that she’s gone on a show where her getting to the top spot is pretty much guaranteed, even though she’s had to compete against many.

So I hope she releases a hit single of her own which is PURELY her own, and shows that she herself has talent and can manage in this business. She hasn’t had much of an opportunity yet, so we’ll just have to wait and see in the weeks/months to come.

I've played it about 10 times.
Its on my mp3 player, along with the other 2 tracks.
I listened to it about 4 times when in town today.
and when it was plaing in a shop, I stayed in the shop to listen to it.
Im listening to it now.

Well we’ve found something we agree on then!
You think she’s talented, but she just hasn’t had an opportunity to prove herself personally. Of course I’m confident that she will, and will do really well, it’s just a matter of proving those who are doubtful wrong.

You are a lot different from me. If I had played a song that many times in a day, after a few days I would be bored of it. You must really really love it. I remember doing that to a song years ago and I haven't heard it since. Songs wear out however great they are if they are over played. That's part of the problem with cover songs.

Yes, I think she has talent and her voice is wonderful. I don't think the single does her justice since it was written for someone else and not for her. I hope she does well and can get away from the pop machine and the manufactured hit makers of this world. She is basically still young and needs to develop as a person before she becomes a true artist. I just hope she doesn't get eaten up before she gets there.

Im not treating it as a cover song though.
I love her version- and could listen to her voice for hours.
I will get sick of it- as you do with songs. But by the time I do, she'll hopefully have a new one out.
I'll never tire of listening to her voice. Whether its A Moment Like This, or a live show recording.

She does have a lovely voice, but I do find the song she had picked for her rather tiresome now. The great thing about listening to recordings of her songs from the TV show is you don't have to see those dancers. She should have ditched them long ago in the X-Factor. She didn't need them on stage with her. And if, she did need them, then she needs to develop her confidence.

I'm sure Cowell won't miss the chance to get another song out in the new year. As someone said he will milk her for all she can give him in record sales. She will the one that will lose out if she is not careful to the pop machine. I hope she has an excellent manager.

Yeah her management and Simon could really make her a star or she could very easily go down the drink/drugs route like many pop stars do. At her age she could easily burn out if given too much to do in a short space of time & with someone with a voice as great as hers if it is over worked in a few years she could be in serious trouble.

We shall see with time if she is cut out for the whole industry being interviews, tv, radio and live shows or even miming is popular these days although it would be tragic if she ever did that. I think if her fans just like listening to her music then she will be fine but if people watch her on tv her confidence needs working on alot and her body language.

Leona fans ...would you be happy if she did a cover album of mariah/whitney?....or do you want to see who Leona is, hear what songs she has written herself and see more into who she is as a person.

Also in a years time potentially do you think she could match Shayne Ward? be better than Shayne? That is in sales, fans, touring etc.

But its about beating other people. I like her for her, not because shes successful.

If she did a cover album- I wouldn't care because its her voice I want to hear, not the songs particularly.
Of course shes not going to just do cover albums. She has written songs herself in the past.

Which clearly weren't good enough to get her noticed.

Is there much point in her using them? They're obviously second rate if she was trying to break into the industry for so long and got nowhere.

But wouldn't you rather have something completely fresh and new that really exercises her voice?

I can't see Simon Cowell let her do any of her own stuff for years, he just wouldn't take the risk that they might flop and she not in a position to insisted that even one of her own songs will appear on the her first album. I bet she pretty much tied down to doing as she is told of the next year.

It's extremely difficult to get into the business though.
However, perhaps her songs weren't top notch, I wouldn't know, but surely now that she's won the X Factor and has a large fan base, she can seek professionals to help her with her songs, or get songs written for her. It's not going to be as difficult at all now.

With the right guidance, I hope she proves everyone who's doubtful completely wrong in the weeks/months to come and she releases an original album. She didn't have the chance earlier as I mentioned previously, but now I'm confident she'll gain the credit she's due for her talent.

Unless of course you have no personality and you win the X-Factor. It makes you ideal material for the Simon Cowell pop machine. Good thing for her she as a good voice. It's the thing that will keep her in the business for years, that and doing as she is told.

I really hope she can. Then she will be able to sing about things she cares about and not what she is told to sing. Problem is does she have the guts to to tell the pop makers where to go?

I still think it's going to take more than months, more like a couple of years. She still has a lot of growing up to do and she won't be in a position to take charge for her career for quite a while. They will have her contract all sown up.

I think after her year being under Simon she will have learnt alot but she will then be able to go in her own direction. It should be good to see after this years contract has ran out if Simon actually takes her on off his own back rather than with the show. I think listening to cover songs would get boring so seeing new songs which she has written or even songs which they have written for her would be great to see her putting her own twang on it. We are yet to see Leona put her own style into a song and now is the time for her to show that. Being on the show must of been hard as it was covers for everyone but now she has the chance to show us new things and that is something as a determined artist she is ...she would want imput into what she sang. Aswell as clothes, videos etc. Whether she is "allowed" to have that imput is upto Simon and Co.

I think if she did a cover album...one might sell but trying to do cover after cover albums even with a voice like hers it would be boring, dull and predictable.
