What people don't realise is that by 'throwing the cushion' Joel was actually releasing his inhibitions. By 'throwing the cushion' it was his way of showing that he could not longer fight his feelings for Aaron and was inviting Aaron for full blown sex

Indeed. Also, what was edited out was Joel saying beforehand that if he said no, it actually means 'yes, please come and rub your naked body all over me'

Joel encouraged it by throwing the pillow. Yes, Aaron was wrong but Joel has done this little 'oh no please dont chase me act' before when one of the twins chased him.
