Yeah my parents aren't to stressed about there results, and we've already discussed level 2, so it won't be like a huge shocker/crisis if I don't get 5 c's.

Although I think I'm being a bit OTT, as I got 4 c's and a B on my mocks, and 3 D's.
Do you just need 5 GCSE's?

When I was going college, we also needed a certain grade in GCSE for the subjects we wanted to do. For example, I remember doing Psychology at A-Level, which required a B in Maths, and a B in Science, I think if you got lower than a B, even a C (which is a pass), you couldn't do it.

Although, each college is different, so that's understandable.

Good luck in College Will. I hope you enjoy it, I've only got like 8/9 months left at school I start Y11 once Summer is over. I have to start deciding what I could be interested in doing and which college I may go to then by October I need to know for definite practically.

I have no idea what I'm doing but I was considering doing Media so you'll have to tell me what it's like

5 c's including English, he said get a B in English (just pushing me/challenging me, not actually required).

although I did literally like the same paper a week before the English language exam (exact same question but different passage), and got an A on it, so hopeful.

At most colleges you need x amount of points to get in.

The college nearest to me Winstanley college is the best college in the North West. You need 48 points to get into it. 10 points is an A*, 8 points for an A, 6 for a B, 4 for a C and then none for anything else.

Most say it's the best year and it goes quicker than you think so I'm not too worried about it. I'm doing well in my most subjects also I got A*'s in my five pieces of English coursework and got an A on my mock. I've done well on all my controlled assessments I've gotten my target grade of B's or A's and I did well in most of my mocks (I ****ed up really bad on my Maths mock though I got a D)

Good luck for the 20th August, I'm sure you've done well. Hope you get the grades you want.

God, results day is agonising. It's even worse for A-Levels. Even when I go in to see my students on Results Day, I feel worried. Especially, as we get the results the midnight before.

Yeah, Year 11 does go quick. You're only in school from September till like April, really. And half of April is wasted on the Easter holiday. After then, you're pretty much off timetable doing your exams in May-June, and you finish school like a month early, so you get an extra 4/5 weeks of summer holiday.

It's weird how I remember more of Year 10-11, than I do of college, and that was like 10 years ago. Those days were the best though

Year 8 is still my favourite year tbh. I liked this year but it wasn't as good as I expected it to at times.

We did ours in late November to mid December, if I remember correctly.

We had two sets of mocks in Year 11. One before Christmas, and one after February half-term, during March.

I had mocks in Y9 also but only in Science, R.E., English and Maths

I've already done one of my science GCSES this year I'm expecting to get a B.

Year 10 was my favourite.

You were old enough to not feel like the youngest, and GCSE's made you feel grown up , and everyone had matured by then, but it was still a year before your GCSE's, so it felt less serious and you could still enjoy yourself.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention Year 10 is the year where you drop all the deadwood subjects like DT/ICT/etc, and just do the subjects you chose for GCSE's and the core ones, which made lessosn more enjoyable.

I've took quite serious subjects though as my school split options into two separate areas where you had to pick two subjects:

The first was:

French
Spanish
Drama
I.T.
Graphics
D&T
Textiles
Food Tech
Electronics

The second was:

History
Geography
Art
Music
P.E.
Triple Science
Business Studies

I first picked French, Drama, Geography and BS but I dropped French and changed it to Spanish and dropped BS for History.

Gosh, it's been so long. I think I did History, Sociology, and Media Studies.

The thing is I went to a language college, so we had to do a MFL as a GCSE as it was compulsory, so I chose Spanish. That was a pisstake, though as nobody cared about languages (well I didn't anyway ).
