i'm just talking about like the type of things i've been infracted (possibly reported) for, which are really petty things

if someone was insulting you/getting proper personal and just spiteful and nasty, then i wouldn't find it pathetic for reporting them because they'd deserve it

Yeah, I'd never do it over a really minor, trivial thing. But if someone's being an almightly rude arsehole, I don't hesitate in doing it.

true but it's also up to them as well, they have the power to decide whether or not it's worth one can you imagine automatic infractions when people press the button

You all need to remember, the mods are the ones who give you the infractions, if someone stupid reports a post for a stupid reason, the mod is supposed to think about it and decide if it's stupid or not. It seems most of the time they don't think, but yeah, the person reporting the post can't infract you, don't understand how you can call them pathetic if a mod decided it was rightful, it would be them you're calling pathetic then.

I disagree. Perhaps the mods are fearful from the backlash they may receive. I'm sure they find plenty of complaints pathetic, but have to give infractions either way.

The mods are anonymous. I don't think they "fear" anything, it's just easier for them to not bother evaluating.
