My concern would be that a corporate bod would want TiBB so they can send us Spam

Is there a privicy policy to address that?

I doubt Mark would opt for a corporate bod to take over TiBB.

There was a time when this site didn't have adverts right?

Every site has adverts, TIBB has less intrusive ones - but its free to members so thats understandable

Hardly noticed them. They're not really interfering with the running of the site - infact, they're clearly funding it.

Definitely not the same as a corporate bod taking over TiBB and sending us evil ideologies through waves of spam.

I never noticed them before. I don't think there was any. But then one day I saw one and was like, ehh?

The advertisements are a pretty new thing, and yes they are here simply to help fund the site which Mark has funded himself for a long time. Maybe you guys would like to follow the links to the adverts every now and then might even increase revenue to help the site pay for itself.

Lmao! Just as you said that, I scrolled to the bottom to see the adverts and 2 out of 3 of them were for divorce lawyers.

Suppose I'll check them out then.

I think thats a pretty good idea infact. I often get the feeling
that some members slightly take it for granted that this is a free site. It didn`t just appear out of thin air.
I often wonder how on earth it all adds up. There is all the time that the mods spend too!!
I`m certainly in favour of the adds and wouldn`t object at all if they were even more visible.

Edit. This is not aimed at members who don`t look at the ads, but more at those who occasionally give the mods a hard time, waiting for a response and such things.

You could place it on Ebay and see what bids come in. Just get a friend to place a bid of one million pounds and whatever the second bid was may tell you what it is worth?

Just a crazy idea lol
