we've all seen how obsessive charlie was, jason has tasted it first hand. he knows how nasty charlie gets if he associates with other females and was trying to protect them & I suppose himself from her jealous temper. dont know how anyone can pick fault on how he handled the charlie thing, yet can defend charlie.

Well then you just answered your own question then. Maybe...just maybe people find Charlie interesting whether she's in the right or not and they're defending her as a housemate rather than a person?? As you said, it's not all about looks.

But we only have his word for that......

We certainly saw someone who was obsessive and tearful, but did we really see someone who was 'nasty' or who had a 'temper', and who others needed protecting from?

Has Jason actually planted an idea that everyone has just fallen into believing because he has presented himself as terribly reasonable and honest?
