You are correct in the comments I have quoted, but that is exactly why we don't know what other housemates are doing. They are all doing something but we are just not getting the opportunity to see it because of the attention seeking few, and because, unfortunately, BB are choosing to focus on them instead. Liam's post which follows yours sums up the benefits of losing attention seeking characters by highlighting what happened each time one of them went in this year's civilian BB. He's tedious.
My favourite moment of tonight was Katie and Ricky dancing in the storeroom and I'd love to see more of those house relationships rather than Bear desperately seeking attention. I do enjoy drama in BB and I've actually been enjoying the series unlike most here but I haven't enjoyed Bear as an individual. He's actually been one of my main sources of annoyance. |

Yes, I'm in agreement with those who are finding him tedious. Sadly, having watched every BB and CBB since the very first one, I can honestly say this is the first time ever that I have been tempted to switch off.
![]() And, although I can predict that some will say that no-one else is doing anything interesting, we cannot know that if we do not see it. In fact, just like when 'big' characters left in civilian BB this year, other characters came to the fore and more interesting storylines developed as a result, I am sure the same would happen in this case. How I am missing that series. Unfortunately, the focus on Bear (who is very one-dimensional) means we are basically watching the same thing every night- Bear winding someone up and enjoying the misery he causes. Therefore, each episode feels so predictable, and this is what makes it boring. If his wind-ups were comical and amusing, I might find him entertaining. Unfortunately, his wind-ups are just unpleasant, and to me this isn't entertainment and it isn't enjoyable. In my opinion, the only truly entertaining moment Bear has given us was his response to the security guard in the diary room. Last edited by Garfie; 07-08-2016 at 12:54 AM. |

...from things that other housemates have said and quite a few occasions, he's obviously dominating the house vibe and mood so he's dominating the HL shows as well..I don't think that's ever a good thing/to have one person negatively dominating or conducive to a healthy house, so there is very little else other than negativity atm and very little likability...that's awful really I think for fans because it's so hard to find a favourite with all of the actions and reactions etc being all pretty grim and having a favourite and getting behind a housemate is a huge part of it....and his character is just very one dimensional as well with how he's being so it's not sustaining any form of interest for me...

..(I think..)..that it's becoming a show that Bear would want it to be, about him../...rather than him fitting into and being part of a show that we want it to be and why we watch it.../obviously it's not the same for everyone but that's how I'm feeling anyway...

People said BB17 would be boring without Marco and look what happened, the walking sti incubator left and the series got so much better, loud obnoxious characters aren't the be all and end all of the show, if Bear left it would give other people the opportunity to come out of their shell and shine, the sooner Bear goes, the sooner we get more interesting characters and dynamics come to the forefront, he needs gone.

Bear is one of the most memorable and talked about housemates of all time ...add to that mix the Biggins disaster and this will prob be considered one of the most memorable and talked about CBBs too.

I agree with you. He isn't funny 'haha'...people are the butt of his jokes. I love a wind up but he takes it to a different level. If people don't find his 'jokes' funny he starts getting personal and intimidating and it's no longer a joke. People that find that funny I would love to see them as the butt of one of his jokes...it's not funny to watch and it wouldn't be funny being his 'victim'. He is a bully and he is far from funny.
