its criminal that there are not an adequate number of lifeguards at every public beach. In many countries its a legal requirement, why not here? Swimming pools have lifeguards yet the sea is a much more dangerous environment. Its crazy

Camber Sands is one of my local beaches, used to go most days during the summer holidays.. It's a scary place if you're taking kids or if you can't swim properly. The tide moves in at walking pace sometimes and loads of people who can't swim properly stick to the shallow water which goes out really far, but they don't realize how far out they are once the tide starts going in and if you get caught in between sand bars which suddenly go deep then you're pretty screwed. And it's ridiculous how they never have any lifeguards there
